Uw hulp is nodig!!
With your contribution, we can improve the quality of life of the animals at this shelter. Thanks for your help!
Building facilities to improve animal health!
This project was created to improve the quality of life of the dogs that live in the Odena shelter, which now has a population of approximately 150 animals that have been abandoned in the area.
Since September, we’ve been selflessly collaborating to get the shelter ready for the winter. We’ve built houses out of pallets, cleaned cages and created new zones to give the dogs as much space as possible. Our work until now has been done with the help of individual donations, many hours of work and thanks to the effort of a great group of volunteers united for a common goal: “To improve the lives of animals living in shelters.”
Our project has two main objectives: To improve the logistics of the shelter and sanitary care for the animals. This is how we plan to reach our goal:
First, by building a warehouse that will be used to sort all donations received, products used on a daily basis and stock of necessary products. This way, we can better organize our inventory of what is needed and how often it’s used. Construction will be done will pallets, using the knowledge we’ve acquired over the last few months. We also plan to built an addition to the warehouse with porches so that all the dogs living in the outer area (approx. 12 dogs) can sleep protected from the elements.
Second, we’re going to repurpose an existing house to be used as a health care facility. In this facility, we can examine the dogs in the most hygienic conditions possible in an area where the they can recover from their injuries more comfortably, isolated from the rest of the dogs. The facility will also be set up for new dogs that arrive, so they can be properly attended to and kept in quarantine (if necessary), giving them a less stressful introduction to the shelter. This area will also serve as a reception for future adoptive families, where they can receive information about the animals and complete the necessary paperwork for adoption.
This is what the warehouse will look like:

The money raised will be used to purchase the following materials:
Repurposing of the house:
35 m2 vinyl floor ,5 steel shelves, 1 exam table
3 shelves - table + framing – for the quarantine zone and under the window - 150 cm x 50 cm Partition/separating shelf and 3 chairs for the waiting area
Warehouse and dog houses built with pallets
Pallets, screws, nails, metal elbows and fittings for the walls, cement for the foundation, roofing materials, waterproof wood for roofing, floors and walls, wooden slats for the roof and varnish to to make it last as long as possible.
The work will be carried out by volunteers dedicated to improve the lives of our furry friends.
We’ve started with a goal a 2,000 euros to get our project started as soon as possible. However, our total budget will reach 4,500 euros. We hope you will continue to collaborate until we reach our objective of 4,500 euros or more! Every euro counts!
We’ve already started the warehouse:

Our group of is made up of young people eager to help the animals living in shelters. We’re professionals and students from all walks of life, each one bringing invaluable experience and enthusiasm to the project. Over the past 3 months, we’ve combined our forces to take on bigger projects and become great friends! We’ve been able to improve the lives of these animals and, with your help, we can take an even bigger step to give them the best quality of life possible.

Prozuswandeling 22 november 2015
